    Hi Everyone,

My company is developing a Parts Washing operation. These Parts are to be transfered into a Class 1000 Cleanroom. What size Filter should the Parts Washer be installed with? We are an optics electronics company

      Hi Jeff,
I’ve called on some experts and believe I have an answer for you.
First, the water for washing should be addressed. The temperature of the water is critical: it should be hot, 18 meghom water filtered to .5 micron. Do not use any surfactant-based cleaners during this process.
As for the air filtration in the area, the percentage of filtration in the ceiling / air exchanges per hour will depend more on the activity within the cleanroom than the class of the cleanroom. In other words, a cleanroom that does not generate much contamination there is not a need for as much air exchange. Any engineer with controlled environment HVAC experience can make a more specific recommendation.
      Hope this helps!
