Hi,
I would like to know the duration/shelf life of Clean room paper after use. The clean room papers get printed with information/form, get autoclaved and then get documented during production run. I would like to know how many months/years does the paper last afterwards and if there is an etablished proof of it.
The pharma companies are required to store all the documentation for a certain period of time.
Please advice and share your expertise and knowledge.
Thanks,
BhavikHello,
Synthetic coated Cleanroom paper offers these advantages versus traditional paper.1. The substrate of both paper is cellulose, a wood pulp. Cleanroom paper goes thru rigorous online tensioning to deliver a uniform thickness. Cleanroom paper has the surface finish of technical paper. This improved flatness affords a better surface for consistent ink adhesion.
2. The cellulose substrate on Cleanroom paper is coated with a synthetic resin. This coating prevents the release of loose fibers, and improves the paper’s tensile strength.
3. Synthetic coated Cleanroom paper is acid-free, which enhances it’s ability for long-term archiving.
Cleanroom paper is a better solution for archiving than traditional paper. Caution needs to be taken to ensure that the ink used is also acid-free on documents designed for long-term storage.
Hi , most of cleanroom owners use minimum paper inside because it is particle source you know. But if you have to use it , you can use cleanroom certified papers.

The most common and popular shoecover found in the cleanroom is not always the best choice for your environment. Great new article from GSFCC discusses the cons of polypropylene shoecovers, and what the cleaner, more cost-effective alternative option are.

Wiping protocol: IEST suggests for a left-to-right or right-to-left wipe in a cleanroom. But given the many contamination circumstances in a cleanroom, should consideration be taken for other methods?
With a horizontal laminar flow hood, one should wipe back to front (i.e., clean to dirty). Or in a wet contaminant situation, one would wipe in the direction of dry to wet. Some situations could simply call for the operator to make the call (i.e., a wet contamination in the back of a laminar flow hood).Do you always follow the right-to-left (or vice versa) method in your cleanroom? Do you use your best judgment and/or suggest your operators do the same? In which case, do they have the tools to make the best decision?

Hi, WS, I can imagine scenarios where paperless may not be acceptable and Cleanroom paper must be used. Consider an area where operating procedures or protocols must be maintained at several locations in the cleanroom and electronic (i.e. “paperless”) options at those locations are just not feasible from cost, logistic, or maintenance considerations. Imagine binders [...]

WS: Greetings. This is Howard Siegerman Cleanroom Forum Moderator. Given the choice between paperless and cleanroom paper, my choice would always be the paperless route – one less thing to buy and track. But the path to paperless may not be simple and straightforward, in that it likely requires buy-in at all levels – users, [...]
