I just thought i would post a small warning regarding washing textile ductwork fitted in cleanrooms.

The cleanroom specific materials are suitatle for cleanrooms up to ISO class 5 when new.
The materials are specifically designed to be non-shedding, however, this cannot be guaranteed if they are washed, as the continual fibres may snap and therefore liable to shed.

Normally textile diffusers are supplied with hepa filtered air, and so will never require cleaning. We have however, had incidents when the ducts have been soiled prior to fitting, and the contrators have requested that the ducts be washed, in which case we have had to inform the contractor that this would invalidate the warranty.
